DESIGN CONCEPT

DATSUNはかつて無骨で壊れにくいクルマとして知られていた。
新たに新興マーケットを主なターゲットとしたブランドとして生まれ変わり、各新興国でのモーターショーにおいて順次披露される事となった。デザインコンセプトは「Raw Diamond」ーダイヤの原石ー
かつての屈強なブランドイメージの遺伝子を受け継ぎながら生まれ変わる新生ブランドとしての将来性と、新たに磨かれて生み出される創造性を、純粋無垢な輝きを内に秘めたダイアモンドの原石に例え造形化した。
プロダクトのヘキサゴングリルにもリンクした三角形ユニットの組合わせによる寄木細工的構成とし、緻密で精巧なジャパンプロダクツのイメージと重ねた。また、各新興国の環境に配慮し廃棄物ゼロを目標に、アイコニックなデザインとモジュール化の両立を計り、出展面積にも柔軟なデザインモジュールを目指した。

 

DATSUN is the third global brand of Nissan Motor unveiled in 2013. It is re-introduced for the up-and-coming customers in the high-growth markets and has been launched at the motor shows in the emergent countries accordingly.
“Raw Diamond”, meaning the diamonds in rough, is the design concept of the modules for the brand.
In the past, DATSUN was well known as the rugged but hardly broken vehicles. The potential future of the new brand inheriting the toughness contained in its DNA and the creativities newly polished are figuratively referred as the diamonds in rough.
Actually, the combination of the triangle units inspiring the hexagonal front grills of DATSUN vehicles are formed like the wooden mosaic work called YOSEGI ZAIKU which reflects the image of delicate and accurate work of Japanese products.
Successfully achieved are the iconic design and the functional modules. They are able to flexibly correspond with differences in exhibition area as well as eco-friendly reducing the waste aiming at zero emission
